Roger Bardales recognized by the Republic of Peru as Indigenous Ambassador
Roger Bardales was officially recognized by the Congress of Peru as Cultural Ambassador of the Shipibo Indigenous Peoples as a representative and disseminator of the traditions and culture of the Peruvian Amazon and as a defender of indigenous peoples.
In a ceremony held in the congress of the republic, he received his certificate from the president and gave a speech about the mission and projects of the Native Embassy Amazon.
"We want to revalue the cosmovision of native peoples like the Shipibos and others, and so not to loose our ancestral roots. We have great wisdom about nature and we know intuitively how to preserve the Amazon ecosystem, we just have to become owner of our land again. We also want to invite tourists to visit our communities and discover the vivid native culture with its customs, dances, arts, languages and ancestral medicines. All of this is a precious heritage of the earth that we must urgently protect." Roger Bardales, Ambassador of the Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon
The congressmen were moved and agreed on the importance of preserving native peoples and, through them, nature.
In the concert that followed, people enjoyed dancing to the music of Cumbia Masha, a mix of traditional songs and modern rhythms. The indigenous people also performed native dances and offered ancestral crafts.
