Opening of Culture Gallery "JATIBI AXEBO"

The Ministry of Culture has enthusiastically inaugurated the Cultural Centre "JATIBI AXEBO", whose name means "house of culture", "ancestral house" and "house of wisdom".


The inauguration ceremony counted with the participation of 14 outstanding artists, who presented their works inspired by diverse themes, from regional to mythological, including the representation of the rich iconography of the Shipibos, Ashaninkas, Yine and Hunikuin peoples.




The event was attended by distinguished representatives of the Management of Indigenous Peoples Development, the Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism, the Eduardo Meza Saravia Higher School of Artistic Training, as well as the vice-president of the Regional Organisation Aidesep - ORAU.


It was also attended by the patrons Roger Bardales, Ambassador of Indigenous Peoples, Gaviota Zevallos and Simona Reshenoma, director of the German Cooperation, who have contributed significantly to this cultural project.



The opening of the Cultural Centre "JATIBI AXEBO" aims not only to strengthen and disseminate the Amazonian art of talented local artists, but also to revitalise the art scene in general.


The gallery will be open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm and from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm, located in Jr. Libertad 218 in Pucallpa.
