Diplomas on the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples
At the ceremony celebrating the "International Day of Indigenous Peoples", the government recognised representatives of indigenous peoples for their invaluable work, including Roger Bardales for his struggle and participation in the indigenous movement, awarding him full honours.
The indigenous people, divided into five categories (environmental and human rights defenders, health and ancestral medicines, leaders, teachers, artisans and communicators), received a diploma on behalf of the regional government, the ministry of culture and the regional organisation Aidesep.
It is important to mention that the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is celebrated every year on 9 August.
